What You Need: Driver Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old with a clean Illinois driver's license (2+ years if under 25, 1+ year if 25 or older). Your vehicle must be no older than 10 years with current registration and insurance.

  • We're looking for drivers who are truly part of Bloomington-Normal. You must be a local resident for at least 2 years, though current college and university students are welcome to apply.

  • All candidates must pass comprehensive local and national background screenings and maintain a spotless driving record. Your vehicle must also pass our multi-point safety inspection.

  • Successful drivers bring proactiveness, excellent time management, strong communication skills, and complete transparency. You'll need to complete an interview and training process with our management team.

    • Proof of personal vehicle insurance (rideshare coverage may be required)

    • Valid vehicle registration

    • Completed vehicle inspection form

Click the link below and text the word “Schedule” to our management team. We’ll set up a quick 10-minute call to review your survey responses, discuss the opportunity, and answer any questions you might have.

Step 3: Complete Your Paperwork

Review and complete the Driver Privacy and Confidentiality Agreement, Independent Contractor Agreement, and Vehicle Inspection form. Have questions? Call us at 833-443-2863.

FYI, We will accept PDF digital submission for the inspection form as well.

Step 4: Download & Upload

Download the Neighborly Rideshare Driver app (available on iOS and Android), create your account, and upload the following documents:

  • Driver’s license

  • Vehicle insurance

  • Vehicle registration

Please also provide your email so we can initiate your background check.

Once we’ve received everything, our team will review your documents and reach out if any additional information is needed.

Step 5: Live Paid Training & Evaluation

Schedule your live training and evaluation session with management — and yes, you'll be paid for your time! Please note you will be taking real scheduled rides with one-on-one training in the field with our trainers.
